Spring has sprung

Had a morning out with the hubster, making the most of the sunshine as the forecast for the next few days is drear. So herewith, a wee picspam of Lackford Lakes.
Nuthatch - so chuffed with this one!

There were a few birders all set up on the path opposite a fallen tree, all set up with their giant lenses - cheating! Basically, they put nuts and seeds on the old tree and then just wait for the nuthatch and other birds to turn up. So we stood by for ten minutes or so and tried to get a few snaps of our own! This little chap was also posing for us in the same place.

The sort of knobbly tree that could feature in a SPN episode - imagine this in the dark...

I don't know why he insisted on wearing his winter parka, it was actually quite warm in the sunshine!

Well, they may have the equipment but it's knowing how to use it that brings the results, right? ;) Pfft on their telephoto lenses; you have a great composition and focus, and a very nice shallow depth of field with some lovely soft bokeh. :)
