Scorecard

After ash listed all of Dean's movie references recently I too was curious to see how many of Dean's movies I've watched.

Bold the ones you've seen.

Titles with 3 or more movies (James Bond, Star Wars etc) decide if you've seen enough of them to consider it a point. If there's a movie with a remake that isn't listed (i.e. The Parent Trap), either one counts.

Dean is quoted as seeing every Clint Eastwood movie. He stars in 42 movies. Include if you've seen a lot of his films (say over 20…).

My Score: 57/153 Nowhere near ash48's 123!! In my defence, I will say I've seen a lot of films that aren't on Dean's list...! Oh and I only counted my Clint Eastwood's as 1 point.  Interesting that there aren't all that many westerns on Dean's list.
And I would point out that even if you use a movie reference, it doesn't necessarily mean you've seen it.

I think Dean has a very specific kind of film he likes (which actually was the reason I wanted to make a list in the first place) and I totally agree that just because he can quote from them doesn't mean he's actually seen them. though I think we can make the assumption that he's a movie watcher.

it's a shame more westerns didn't turn up. If I had listed all the Clint Eastwood films there would be a greater representation, but adding another 42 films was beyond me (and I have to assume Sam was exaggerating a tad about Dean being able to recite all of Clint's films). Ooh, sorry to blab about this here. It's rather consumed me over the last few days, :)). Thanks so much for playing. I've been enjoying seeing the films people have seen from this list.

I am ashamed to say I haven't yet watched Shawshank - I've got the DVD sitting my the couch - and I'm with Dean in never having seen It's a Wonderful Life. Which is another reason I find it hard to stomach his ignorance. Because I know you hear references to that film everywhere, and there are always trailers for it at Christmas and even I know about Clarence and the basic premise of the film!

My count may be off, but my score was 81, so I guess Dean and I would argue over which movie to watch, but finding something else to do instead? That's my plan!
