For those who've been having the problem I was having with email validations and error messages, this is the reply I got from them

Thank you for your inquiry. This problem with your email address being marked as unvalidated was caused by LiveJournal's email server being incorrectly listed as a spam site on a few anti-spam services that are used by email providers and ISPs to filter out spam -- this usually happens due to the sheer volume of email that LiveJournal sends out for its users (comment notifications, other subscriptions, etc). When our server is listed at such spam sites, messages are not delivered to the recipient and instead create a huge volume of error messages back to us, which then triggers the email address to be marked as unvalidated.

This issue should now be resolved at this time, as we have worked with these sites to get our server removed from their lists. Your email address for your account is validated at this time, and you should have full, normal access to your account.

It does look like it's been resolved for me at the moment. Hopefully!

Thank you for sharing the response, it sounds like they've fixed the issue we were experiencing. Fingers crossed. I might message LJ anyway, just in case.

This is a really common problem actually. Back when my employer hosted our work emails to the company website, because we sent out so many emails daily often with attachments, our email addresses were flagged as spam by certain firewalls and not delivered to our clients. It took a while for our IT guy to sort it out with the spam registration sites. Then we changed our email service to a 3rd party host and it solved everything, so the poor IT's efforts were for naught. Always the way... *eyeroll*

yeah, I know I have a LOT of alerts set for LJ and FB, and my FB ones nearly all go into my spam inbox but at least I can still see them. Getting stopped at a firewall is a step further because then you don't know what you aren't getting. I can't imagine the quantity of spam that washes up on the firewalls of the world...

Your penis must be enormous by now then... My spam seems to all be congratulating me on winning all sorts of wonderful things. So many opportunities I'm squandering daily by sending their emails straight into my trash...
