Wrist update
Jul. 22nd, 2015 06:48 pmThanks for all your concern and advice yesterday chaps! I got the bus up to the A&E this morning and was seen within ten minutes (which is amazing - there was hardly anyone there). Anyhow, the nice jolly nurse chap told me it was a contusion on the tendon = he was very definite there was no damage to the bones - so I hopped back on the bus and carried on with the icing treatment. I'm happy to report the swelling is down a bit, and it's a lot less painful so yay! I reckon I scared it into submission by threatening it with triage.
I think I did it on Sunday night when I was leaning across the bath to open the window, because I did smack my wrist on the window sill then - and I can't remember doing anything else that might have caused any damage. It would have been very embarrassing to have broken a bone opening a window...

While I was in grad school I spent one evening reading for hours with my left arm propped up on the arm of my couch and the next day I couldn't move it. I went to a doc-in-the-box to have them look at it, and they put me in a sling for a few days. That night I went to class and when everyone asked what happened, I had to tell them I hurt myself reading.
Yep.
