This is the last of my SDMB art posts for the the 4th annual samdean_otp minibang challenge. The fic by candygramme and spoonlessone is pre Stanford era, Sam is 17. He gets a job with a young photographer, Eric Brady, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Dean...

I didn't do a huge amount of illustration for this one, I ended up concentrating on a single scene in the story that appealed to me - Dean's first encounter with Eric at Eric's photographic studio. It is a tiny bit spoilery, I suppose.

I did two versions of the same drawing as a text/paragraph divider because I liked the idea of a negative image (it seemed appropriate!)


And I appropriated this rather fun photo from this wallpaper site to make Chapter headers


For references I used various promo pics from Days of Our Lives and Gilmour Girls. I didn't give Eric the floppy hair but went with his more Dean-like cut which I assumed was from the latter years of Jensen's time on the show.
This was my main Sam ref for the drawing, though I changed the hair.

I shouldn't include the photos, it just shows up my lack of ability to capture a likeness!! Ha ha ha.
So there you have it. My next SDMB post will be my fic (which I can't remember writing now, it feels so long ago) and much more excitingly, dollarformyname's hugely anticipated art - no pressure, girl! LOL

This is such a cool assortment of styles and images! :D I love the animation of the prism in Sam's camera, and the idea of the negatives for the fic banners is inspired--and so effective. Waaay cool!!
