That’s what you tell yourself the first, the second, and the twentieth time until you don’t really think about it anymore because it’s beyond normal, it’s part of your life, another duty you perform to keep food on the table and gas in the car so you can take your little brother to school, and if your ass is sore sometimes and you walk a bit funny, or you can’t get rid of the taste of spunk from your mouth however much whiskey you chase it down with, well, what’s a little inconvenience against looking after Sammy?
