Still at my parents, having numerous frustrations over getting Mum's broken arm sorted out,

but amongst all of that, this is such a lovely historic town, it's a pleasure to be here. I really love the red sandstone that they use in this area - in Suffolk we are short of stone so the medieval and later buildings tend to be either flintwork, half timbered or brick. Here medieval in particular uses the sandstone, mostly the lovely rusty red. These cottages (which are prone to flooding when the river gets high most years) date from around the 1350s-1400s, part of a defunct dissolved monastery called Greyfriars (Franciscans for those who don't know).

That pale ginger cat is there a lot, though usually I've seen it warming itself on the car bonnet.

Oh and today I thought I'd have a crack at some drawing with pencil and paper, and tried that pic of Jensen I mannipped yesterday. It doesn't actually look much like him - I did my usual and made his nose too long etc etc but I kind of liked it so will pretend it's someone else. LOL</span>

I love both the drawing and the photo! I haven't travelled outside of North America, and very little out of the U.S., and everything is so relatively NEW here. I would love to see/photograph/ stay in some wonderful old historic buildings like this one. It's quite beautiful, and I see what you mean about the red stone. Gorgeous.

Hopefully I'll make it across the pond one day! <3
