Thought I'd pop on and do a quick splurge before I read too many other reaction posts.  Not that I'm easily influenced but...

So I laughed my head off at the initial gradual transformation scene - that was actually brilliantly subtle and that made it even more hilarious.  To have Dean retrieve the rolled up paper from the bin without even noticing he was doing it was genius.  Twice!  And then when Sam called him and he had to physically restrain himself from fetching it out again for the third time? Bwhahah!

I sort of enjoyed the case, though there wasn't much depth to it.  That kid in the Rescue Centre was one freaky looking boy.  Until the monster chef slashed him I was getting worried we wouldn't get the SPN trademark blood spray, having had the taxidermist's shadow merely bent in half. (Ow!) But my main worry when the boys split up on the hunt, was that feeling of dread that they were going to have Zeke pop up again - and blow me if that isn't exactly what happened.  I was only grateful Zeke didn't hang around to kill the monster at that point, that would have been really annoying.  But they need to get this sorted SOON!  Sam isn't Tim Nice but Dim, show!  He's a clever man, he has GOT to be getting more than suspicious by now - and this is really stretching the audience's credulity by stretching this storyline out.  The shit has got to hit the fan and Dean has to deal with the fall out.

I am concerned that they want to spin this out to deal with it in the mid season finale - and that is, what, still four episodes away?

Oh and I agree with Jared's assessment of the animal voices.  Have those Show people never seen Creature Comforts?  Huh.  Some education is in order there, methinks.

You did it first -- and BEST -- bb!

I agree with Jared's assessment of the animal voices.

Did he live-tweet again? Oooh. *races to his Twitter to see*

I'm not watching the show anymore, but I watched this episode because I wanted to see dog!dean (and it's your gen bb faults really :b).

And omg I was laughing so hard at his doggy ways that I literally had to bend over and breathe before fainting. HILARIOUS. It was better than my expectations.

Well, Dean wont have an issue with dogs after this anymore xD

Ha ha it was THAT funny, wasn't it? I actually craved more and was a bit disappointed it turned into just Dr Deanlittle instead.

Maybe now Dean thinks they have a home, he'll want to get Sam a dog...

Yeah, well, that's the con of a TV they only have so much time in their hands. That's why we write fics ;)

Maybe now Dean thinks they have a home, he'll want to get Sam a dog...

That crossed my mind too :3

Ooh, what did Jared say about the voices? I'll have to go and check. They were the weak spot in the ep for me. The rest was fun and satisfying. And I agree…the transformation scene was perfection! :))

He was disappointed, and then apologised for them at the end! I love that man...

Oh god I love Jared too. I've been voting for Jensen in the PCA only so they don't cancel each other out, but I wish they both could get the award ... even though I think awards are mostly bogus ... but I want my boys to get their props! Anyway, on the ep. I was watching with my two cats on the couch, and during the cat-bagging and eating scene I was screaming at the tv, "No no no NO NO!!" which barely phased my extremely-mellow cats. That was a hard thing for me to watch, but Dean doing his doggie thang ... loved it. Since they're both dog lovers I imagine they had some fun doing the episode.

I reckon they both had such a lot of fun making this one, and it showed! Poor kitties, eh...

This was the best episode so far of this season, Jensen nailed Doggy Dean, he has such expressive eyes & it was nice to see him play to his comedic strengths again. I agree that the Sam/Zeke thing has gone on too long. surely Sam would be a lot more suspicious - Dean is being really cagey too!

Very true, Jared was brilliant in Swap Meat & Changing Channels. And you & Jared were so right about the animals voices, the dog's was just wrong, he sounded too old! I love Creature Comforts too!

I liked the doggie voice of the extortionist I-luv-belly-rubs dog (I'm terrible at telling apart breeds but is he a Yorke?)but the rest was just weird. :D The Sam/Zeke thing needs to be dealt with. Or at least, he needs to stop getting knocked out. Still, pretty awesome episode :D

Funnily enough, the Yorkie voice was the only one I felt was tolerable too, so I guess they must have done something right there...plus Sam with hand cramps was rather funny.

I liked the Yorkie and her extorting belly rubs from Sam was hilarious. As was Dean playing fetch with the scrap paper. And him eying the French Poodle. Ooh la la! LOL.

Yeah, I was disappointed when Zeke showed up again and it really does have to be resolved. I bet Sam's spinning the problem in that gigantic brain even as we speak.

I hope so... Dean unconsciously playing fetch is never going to get old!
