I found this online storytelling training course via The Write Practice, which is an online writing blog and community that sends out daily prompts and tips, and seems to be pretty useful. I thought I might as well sign up as it's free, and registration only wants a name and email address so doesn't seem to be predatory...it's run from Germany (Postdam).
It says you put in as much time as you want to, there is no qualification to be gained, no exams or assessments, so it sounds like one of those things where you probably get most out of it the more you put in.  Which probably means I won't get all that much out as I am so notoriously lazy!
The tag line says: Are you interested in the mechanics of current fiction formats? Do you want to know how stories are told? Do you want to analyze, understand, contextualize and create stories and narratives? Then join our MOOC.
(Not entirely sure what MOOC stands for, to be honest, LOL!)
If you are interested you can find out more details HERE.  Oh and they have a Facebook page here

MOOC = Massive Open Online Course (I think--might have the Os switched). Supposed to be the Next Big Thing in higher ed. I'm kind of meh about the concept, personally, but for something like this, I can see how it would be a good thing. It shouldn't cost a fortune to learn the mechanics of storytelling and get some targeted practice in putting together a good story!

Ah thanks for enlightening me! Yeah, I thought this is a no lose situation really. So I'm going to give it a whirl!

Looks pretty interesting, actually! I used to do something similar a long while back, only they got spammy. But when it was good, that program helped quite a lot--especially in terms to writing exercises, which I still do when I'm not working on any story in particular.

More online courses - yes! Thank you so very much for mentioning this. I'm constantly doing courses through Coursera (haven't heard of iversity before, but it looks like the same sort of setup, though, Coursera does have testing) and they're fantastic!

But Coursera doesn't tend to do writing or language-related courses for whatever reason. I'm all signed up for this one and looking forward to it!
