Clarion Call
Oct. 29th, 2018 11:06 pmWe popped down to the waterfront this evening to catch a performance of some 'art' - this one's called Clarion Call and it's supposed to evoke the waiting women of WW1. THere are arrays of speakers placed on rooftops all around the marina, then a helicopter flies over and supposedly boosts the singing that is being broadcast via the speakers. It's being performed twice a day for a week or so, and it's kind of interesting, I suppose. My hubby really likes it, and has been down to listen a couple of times now - I'm not that struck by it but it was worth going the once.
There's a video of some of the singing, if anyone's interested. The nicest bits are around 4-5 minutes in.
I actually think it would be better without the helicopter noise, but then we were also being treated to a daft bloke on his balcony who was blowing a shofar when we arrived and then got out a megaphone and shouted throughout the performance. Because apparently this was all a conspiracy of evil God-haters, and the singers were sun-worshiping witches. Yeah of course they were, because they were women. Blimey, some people are really nutty.
Here's the religious dingbat with his shofar.( Small picspam )
