If any of you haven't been to a convention and were hesitating about going because you aren't convinced they are worth it - here's a great vid to show you why they are so good.Read more... )

Hearing Jensen at both A14 and JIB talking about how much he now appreciates the love in fandom, and witnessing how much difference it makes to his behaviour (OMG, the hugs and smiles he was giving out, and all the dancing and singing...it was phenomenal) - I really want to give him somethig back. So boost the signal, share the love!

AO3 meme

Because I have a hundred other things I could and should be doing, here's a meme stolen from tifaching. You are a bad influence, girl...just sayin'.

I don't have all that many kudos but never mind, here's my top ten fics on AO3 sorted by numbers of kudos.

Top of the list is The J2 French Mistake - which surprised me. Dunno why. I did have a lot of fun writing a J2 set in SPN verse, and I still like the twist at the end.

At number 2 is The First Law of Holes, my semi autobiographical archaeology AU, a bit of mild J2 slash romance set in Italy.

Number 3 is actually an art post, done for the talented tryfanstone's fascinating (and hot) Avengers AU, set in Russia. Kaptain America and the Iron Man. I really enjoyed coming up with the ideas for this one, and the sex scene was one of the first attempts I made at some explicit porn.

Number 4 is a dark one, featuring abused amnesiac Dean - A Matter of Love. Looks like tif's theory that abusing Dean gets hits is true! LOL

Number 5 with an equal number of kudos is another J2 love story, my World War II AU Had We But World Enough and Time, loosely based on the wartime movie A Matter of Life and Death with David Niven. It's a tragic story, albeit with a hopeful ending, so I'm actually surprised to see it up there.

Number 6 is a curtain fic Yours Sincerely Wasting Away, featuring Sam and Dean as grumpy old men. It was also loosely drawing on my Dad's injuries and the impact they had on him so it's a little bit hard for me to read it right now, though I still think it's a pretty good story...

Number 7 also surprised me, I hadn't thought people had been that taken with it, even though I'd loved writing Dean as a dog, and the art odysseaia did for it is bloody marvellous. So sad she's disappeared from fandom, I miss her. It's a Dog's Life.

Number 8 was a springfling that I'd love someone else with more talent to write as a full length big bang! :D The Texas Resistance was a post apocalyptic J2 AU and short for me. Really it was just an excuse to hurt Jensen.

Number 9 was inspired by a friend's true story of working in a BSDM club, she kindly gave me permission to translate her experiences into this Stanford era Sam/Dean ficlet. Oh Bondage, Up Yours!

Finally at number 10 is Allotropes of Sulphur - and I'm kind of surprised anyone read something with a title like that. He he he. Even if it got Carvered whien Season 10 started, I still kind of like my version of Demon Dean.

The range isn't that wide - the top ones have eighty odd kudos, the bottom ones around the twenties. And kudos don't always correspond to hits or to comments. I could always use more readers, I guess!
