Reverse bang number two! This one was for the wincest_reverse, and I was lucky to get picked up by the inestimable laughablelament. She was very tolerant of my lack of active involvement in our partnership, but between us I think we did a reasonable job in the end! LOL

The original prompt


This was a bit of an experiment - I wanted to try out some Japanese gold watercolours, and had this idea about a Vodun Queen, based on this photo.


I've been sitting on this idea for two years! Originally I was going to have her in the picture too, something like this, which is as far as I'd got, way back in 2016.


So when the Wincest RB came round, I thought maybe it was an opportunity to resurrect it. Sorry the paper is so yellowed, but I hadn't actually meant this to be the finished piece. I was intending to rough it out, test the paint etc, then do it again on better quality paper. But I kind of liked this version, and often when I re-draw stuff, it loses something in the repetition. So this ended up being the submitted prompt. Fortunately, laughablelament liked it well enough and the story is pretty damned cool.

Oh and the banner was done on Ingres coloured paper in white Derwent pencil and white ink, then I layered it up in Photoshop to make the animation.
