You have really captured Dean here, and I can believe this is exactly how he felt at the time. Thank goodness that at least Pastor Jim was there for him, especially when he was so badly injured. His shadow companion made me think of Peter Pan, and that Dean's sweat lodge session conjured him up not from his own shadow but from Sam's.
