My second art for spn_j2_bigbang is for anactoria's beautifully atmospheric Via Negationis.
I have to apologise to her for being less than prolific - I hadn't realised just how much I rely on last minute races to the finish until this week hit with GISHHWES at the same time and I just ran out of time. So sorry I didn't do any more art for this one, because the fic is awesome.

And a close up of Lucifer

This was (I think) the first time I've tried drawing Lucifer, apart from a pencil sketch a while back of Mark P, and I was pretty pleased with how it turned out. So much so, when I read a certain passage towards the end of the story, I have to try and illustrate it... (this isn't really spoilery as the picture only hints at what might be going on)

And I'm afraid that was all I had time for. I feel bad about that...

On to the process, as usual...

These pieces were all digital this time.
I forgot to save some earlier shots so this little sequence just shows Sam building up. The background is a screenshot from an episode where Crowley was in the bunker dungeon, I layers and gave it paint effects then painted Lucifer in Crowley's place.

Lucifer's ref was a promo still and I can't remember which photo I used as a ref for Sam. But refs were used!
