Yep we call it football and it's more appropriate than American Football anyhow, which isn't kicked hardly ever after all! Mind you neither is a rugby ball and yet rugby's full name is rugby football, so... no judgement here!

I think using the left hand to shake hands or eat with is a faux pas in many Arab countries too - though one would hope that by now most places people use toilet paper and wash their hands, you know?!
