S10E08 episode reaction (no fic yet!)

amberdreamsA quick drive-by post because I just had to thank my flisties for the discussion we had the other day about Sam and Dean's relationship. It meant when the boys were in the Bunker discussing Jody's case, and Dean turned the patented Puppy Dog Eyes on Sam - I actually cheered and shouted "role reversal!!!"
Got to say, Sam does them better. But I suppose he's had more practice!
So that aside, what else. Donna is ace, I love her so much - how she's trying so desperately to be jolly so people will like her, how she is visibly hurt but hides it, how she's (like Dean) a LOT smarter than she looks, and occasionally she's brave enough to show it. Jody is brilliant and the two of them together were a perfect storm of kickass womanhood combined with comedy and a dash of angst. I REALLY want to see the SPN spin off being the Sheriffs Mills and Hanscum show (going by the writer's spelling for that one). Of course it won't happen because a) women b) middleaged women c) lack of imagination.
Oh another cheering out loud moment - the coroner was that hilarious woman from Stargate who had hiccups and was brilliant. Under used here I thought, but still, made an impact. And of course, the fake badges...
And I laughed when the dumpster ate that bloke.
Musical moments of note - they played the Family theme music not only while Dean and Sam were talking at the end but for Jody and Donna too, and I loved that implication. And of course - The Weight!
