Lovely drabbles, the Dean one especially :).

I have to admit, I called Rowena as being Crowley's mother before the role was even cast :P. The casting call was for: "the new recurring role of Rowena, a tough but elegant woman who will stop at nothing to reclaim her power base. Actresses who have or can perfect a Scottish accent are preferred." We had just seen Gavin in the show and we know Crowley's mum was a Scottish witch, so it made sense that it would be his mum.

I thought Rowena's Scottish accent was really weird in this episode though - it sounded forced, like she was toning it down, but also enunciating more for the US audience.
