Holidays with a limp

I managed to get around without the crutches after day 2,which was a good job as boy, they don't half knacker your arms and chest! Unfortunately I couldn't walk far and therefore most activities were somewhat curtailed. Hubby was happy over the weekend as he had the Goodwood Festival of Speed to go to, but I did feel a bit guilty after that when he wouldn't go and do stuff by himself. The heat was pretty sapping though, so siestas in the afternoons seemed like a good idea!
Chichester is a beautiful tiny city, I do love it there, and it makes a good base to explore the south coast too.

We did have a couple of days out - I saw that there was a place on a coastal inlet/river mouth called Emsworth, and sure enough, P G Wodehouse did live there for 10 years, so of course we had to go and have a look. I'm not sure I'd fancy a pint of Doombar though...sounds like something Lucifer might brew up!

Emsworth was very pretty with boat drives rather than car drives (hee!) though no sign of the Empress of Blandings, sadly.

though I fancied this nice VW Beetle convertible. Our first two cars when I was a kid were Beetles, and it was my first love car-wise, before the Impala.

We also went to the seaside proper - Selsey to be exact. It was virtually empty - just a few dog walkers, crab fishermen and mad joggers to disturb our peace.

And typical British blokes with cricket hats.

At least he didn't have socks and sandals on, hey?

Pretty blue flowers by the sea - I suppose I should look them up but it's too hot.
Anyhow, we are home now, so that must have been where the arrow was pointing all along...

The End!
