List ten things, people, places, beings, thoughts, feelings that you love that begin with that letter and then post that list on your journal.

bornof_sorrow gave me the letter D. Which was HARD!

1. Dundonald Road – where I grew up. I loved that house, always dream about it, even all these years later.

2. Drizzle – on a warm summer evening, and the smell of hot wet pavements. Oh and it is wonderful if I’m playing summer league hockey (you know field hockey is a winter game for a reason).

3. Destiel – never thought I would go there but then I never thought I’d like slash either, so it just goes to show, you never can tell what kinks will leap out and bite you in the nethers…

4. Doors and doorways – especially old ones, like this local church door (probably 11th century) or this lovely modern one, also from a local church, or even scrubby flaky ones like this one from the seaside town down the road…

5. The Dingle peninsular in Ireland – a fabulously beautiful place bursting with wildlife and packed with history.

6. Downloading!!!! Should have had this as my number 1 – where would I be without illegal downloading? Half my social life is online round Supernatural (sad I know!) and it would make conversations rather fraught as I’d be years behind waiting for the DVDs…

7. Dapple – I like the word, and I like the effect – in light and on horses.

8. Dorks – I probably am one if you go with the definition as someone who is out of touch with contemporary trends, and of course if we class Jared as one (which he certainly is sometimes in the sense of someone who is quirky and silly) then what is not to love?

9. Dottie – my aunty Margaret’s Scottish friend from Edinburgh who is totally adorable and completely crazy. She is a great advocate of practical archaeology – so much so that she once managed to explode a lump of flint because she read that heating it would make it easier to knap. So she whacked it into her home oven and baked it… At the moment she is building model trebuchets to demonstrate to a bunch of kids, we have persuaded her that using pennies as ammo is NOT a good idea…

10. Dandilions – I know they are a weed, and make your fingers taste bitter when you pick them, but their splash of bright yellow is like a mini sun in the grass.

Oh and if you want a letter of your very own, just let me know in your comment and I will give you one...
