Inktober52 - Hammer

Inktober is doing a weekly challenge this year and this week is the first time I've managed to fit one in. Of course, with a prompt like hammer, I was bound to think of Demon Dean, right?
Imagine him singing Pete Seeger's If I had a Hammer...

The photo isn't great because I only have my iPad with me, no camera or scanner. Done in watercolour in my Fabriano Venezia sketchbook with some handmade watercolours by Poems About You on Etsy. The black lines are a waterproof gel pen.
I'd meant the background to be more alarm red but it's turned out a bit orange. Still, I think the old colour theory stuff worked!

Progress/process shots

Pencil sketch. I used a Homeofthenutty screenshot from S10 E03.

Making use of a breakfast plate from the hotel as a palette since I forgot to pack one LOL

I love the colors and the paint handling AND THE SUBJECT! I'd be so scared to go over the watercolor with ink; I'd eff it up FOR SURE...

I'm so happy you got it finished. It looks so good. I love how you did those jeans, and I love Dean's silhouette.♥♥♥

I love this, you've captured Demon Dean very well (especially his bow legs!!!) He looks very alert and ready for demonic action!!

I never mastered watercolours; they frustrate the hell out of me, so I'm in awe of anyone that can work really well with them.

The sketch on its own is fantastic but I love what you did with the watercolor and pen, mmm. Gorgeous! And you got those bowlegs just right. :D
