J2_reversebang art masterpost - Some Kind of Solitude

My second art prompt for j2_reversebang was claimed by the lovely amypond45, who took my prompt and wrote one of my fave tropes - a  dystopian future J2 AU. Click on the banner to go read the story!

This was the original prompt - I was happy for whoever claimed it to take it in whatever direction they wanted to -
I did this one in a bit of a hurry so it was a little bit scrappy, but I hoped all the elements were there for a story idea. I'm glad amypond45 thought so too! :D



Then I read the story's version of this scene and took the opportunity to update it with some story-relevant and other details (like Jared's chest hair!) and to tidy up some of the linework and the background.


Lastly I did a trio of dividers to be used wherever in the story.

Process-wise there isn't much to say - these were all digital, both drawing and colouring, using a variety of photos - some as refs for drawing, others canibalised and played with to suit my nefarious artistic purposes. No doubt those of you familiar with PS will be able to spot these but for those who are interested, the landscape background is a played-with photo, as are the dividers. I used a variety of artistic effects, smudging and drawing over.

Another gorgeous work, Amber! And I can't help but see a resemblance in adult Jensen to another favorite character of mine - Hawkeye from "The Avengers", especially in the outfit. A part that would fit our Texas boy pretty good, me thinks ;)

Your J2 are pretty, that goes almost without saying, but man... I LOVE your desert. I love the haze and the dust and the colours and the rocky outcrops. The horses are gorgeous too and the whole thing is just so beautifully desolate. Lovely piece. ♥

Ah that was mainly over painting a photo, though I did change the lighting a lot, and the shape of the outcrops, so I'll take a smidgin of credit LOL!

As always you really nailed this! I adore J2; the pose, shirtless!Jared and Jensen with that wicked looking bow, and you really captured the vastness of the desert scene and those lovely horses. And wee!Jensen with those freckles is just adorable. I'm looking forward to reading this! Take care :)

I have SUCH a thing for Jensen/Dean as an archer. I DON'T KNOW WHY, BUT HERE IT IS AGAIN AND IT IS LUSCIOUS. And Jared's chest hair. And the arrow dividers! Gorgeous job, lady!

Oh wow! I don't know how I never came across this before, but thankfully I just read the story that was written for this art (and it was gorgeous) so I had tp come and check out the art too, especially since it's yours.

You did such an amazing job with these, I can't even tell you how much I love each and every one of them. The dividers are great, and the two scenes you illustrated are perfection. Love the one of wee!Jensen under the bed, from his expression (and his freckles) to the shadows all around him. And the one of adult J2 in the desert is great too, love their poses and expressions and the hazy desert. Really beautiful, bb. <3
