genteensy bang - Lemons with Honey art for morrezzela

I feel I owe the lovely patient morrezela an apology for this, as I ran out of time to do more art for this charming fairy tale!
So all I have is a banner and one illustration and neither came out exactly how I wanted. *sigh*
Still, hopefully they will tempt you to go and read the fic - I mean, it has Genevieve transformed into an orange jelly sweet and Jared is even sweeter! How can you resist? For the genteensybang 2014.


This isn't really spoilery but here's a scene from the fic after Jared and Gen have entered her kingdom. Sadly I failed at conveying the chocolatelyness of the trees and path.

Both were done in pencil then photographed so I could colour them in Photoshop.

Aw thank you - none of this turned out anything like what I had in my head (which was awesome! LOL) so I was quite disappointed. So if anyone likes it that is a bonus.

The second piece sorta reminds me of wreck-it Ralph :) I love the striped grass and the purple trees in the far back, and the misty air. Jelly sweet!Gen is intriguing...I must read this one!

Ooh I like both of these! Gen's face is beautiful in the top one, and I really like the pattern you chose to superimpose (and also the colouring that you picked for it - it's rather autumnal and wistful) and the lighting was a good choice as well.

The second one is my favourite - you get a great sense of ease between them - Jared's carefree pose and Gen's reluctant little smile. I'm also very fond of your trees.

What do you mean, "One thing right?" Lady, the art is adorbs! If you move the viewer, especially to make them smile and feel upbeat and springy, that's way more than "one thing." Art must communicate. There are a shit ton of technically brilliant artists out there that leave me stone cold; your art always warms me up. SO THERE!

(And actually, monicawoe and I were just talking about how much fun it is to see your art, because it just keeps getting better and better. No lie.)
