Sketchbook and other arty things

Update on my non fannish artings.

I've been trying to do a little something every day, to keep myself going. To persuade myself it's easy, I'm using the smal Moleskine travel watercolour sketchbook (it was relatively inexpensive and is only A5 sized). The aim is the doing, so I'm trying not to worry about 'finishing' or perfecting whatever I'm doing.

So far I've done the following.
Some watercolour flowers (no reference, trying out colour combinations and wet on wet techniques).

Rainbow watercolour doodling without lines.

Watercolour, trying colours and using a detail of a Gustave Moreau painting for inspiration.

And yesterday I thought I'd try some doodles in a new watercolour sketchbook (handmade with Fabriano Artistico cotton paper and therefore obviously to good to use).


Today's effort wasn't in the sketchbook, but one in a series of playing with Pantone postcards. I got the idea from an artist on Instagram, and I'm not sure how many I'll end up doing but thought I'd just keep going as long as I have an idea for something that coes with a colour.
I've done 5 so far but could only fit 4 at a time on the scanner. 😁

I love all these. The flowers are bright and summery and would look great hanging on a wall. The sketches are so much fun and the Pantone cards are wonderful. I am in love with your cat and your gecko. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! The cat and gecko are my faves too. Maybe I should just stick to larger simpler shapes - these postcards are hard to paint on 😁

I haven't. I only post the art for challenges, etc., but that's usually the graphics. I guess I really should maybe post some. We finally got our printer working the other week, I'd just have to deal with getting it scanned over here properly lol. And, wow! I see your stuff all the time! :)

I love all of this!! <3 But I came here specifically to gush about the doodles?!??!! <333!!! I haven't really been active on LJ in a while, and yet when I popped in today, I immediately remembered that I had seen and loved these doodles and still hadn't commented on this post. HI I LOVE THESE DOODLES. I ADORE THESE DOODLES. Oh my gosh, they're so fantastic and creative and expressive and their energy is absolutely top-notch whimsical. They're wonderful. They make me so happy. Keep messing up new sketchbook pages. <3333333
