So clearly, this is how SPN will end...in my dreams!
Dream diary Feb 2020
I had to make a note of this one because a) it was a rare SPN dream, b) which also included J2 and c) most importantly, featured my fangirls.
It started with a bunch of fangirls at an event which had a stage, and we spotted Jared in a backstage area with a group of other people. Initially we’re told he’s there for an event of some kind where he’s going to speak, but then it morphs into behind the scenes at an episode, and we’re watching them filming.
This is Supernatural’s penultimate episode, and it’s scary as fuck. Sam and Dean are fighting something we can’t quite make out, but it’s evil and has a knife like Will’s in Dark Materials. It’s sharp enough to cut through worlds and it’s sliding into Dean. He’s dying and we all know it, and it’s terrible but also awesome because it’s so unexpectedly dark and much more than we were expecting from Dabb & Co. We’re in Dean’s POV and feel the knife slicing though his arm and into his body. There’s no coming back and in a way Dean’s glad. He’s so very tired and wants to let go – so he does.
Sam is reacting to Dean’s death, then it’s end scene.
Actors are now themselves and there’s crew and people milling about. I go back stage to find a loo and hold a door open for Jared and Jensen without the kind of swooning I’d be doing in real life when I get a smile and a thank you.
Then we’re in the episode and there’s a demon possessing one of us, and things are starting to get real. Demons are killing people, and for some reason they are shooting at us with silver bullets, but June (
jj1564) is in her wheelchair in front of us, and the demon bullets are just passing through her like she’s a ghost or something. That’s when we realise that
jj1564 is one badass MOFO and she’s going to kill all those demons.
We’re in a bar and Lucifer appears (the Tom Ellis version). He’s been bewitched and can’t get his words out when I ask him what he desires. Someone has drawn up a contract for him to sign which he foolishly doesn’t read properly before he and two demon witnesses sign it. I sign and add the time, 11:50, to the notes, and the Devil is done for. Mighty and magical June is on the case and starts laying into all Hell’s minions. We just need three people to finish the whole thing off. They were frozen earlier and we have to find them now.
We go through a dark forest full of grey leather bags full of children’s bones, and it’s terrifyingly creepy. Children’s bones are scattered underfoot. We come out into a cemetery and find our three frozen people standing in a crypt, and that’s all we needed. Lucifer is defeated and Supernatural ends.
Ta da!
After I woke up, I got to pondering about possible endings.
What if Castiel's happiness at Jack's return were to send him into the Empty now? Once there Castiel becomes one with the Empty (because he kind of was a reflection of it before, right?) and because he's now Empty!Cas he returns to the Winchesters in order to help them. Empty!Cas then absorbs Chuck, because the Empty is even more God's opposite than Amara is, and therefore makes the perfect cage for God.
Just a thought.

What an epic dream, it's so creepy and it would be fantastic if SPN ended on such a chilling, scary note. Dean's death sounds horrible, but I can imagine him accepting it because he's so tired of it all.
And I like your idea about Cas becoming Empty!Cas and absorbing Chuck.
