Good morning, Giraffic World

The weather forecast for today is good so me and Paul dragged Giraffic Park out onto the front drive and I've been making spray while the sun shines! LOL He's standing there drying and the spray paint has run (doh! I don't know what I'm doing) and the people wandering down the hill to work are giving him some real funny looks.
Hope he isn't going to get leaves stuck to him from next door's tree...

Oh and at 7:30am, it was pretty damn cold! Which probably isn't helping the paint dry. So yeah, now I'm not watching paint dry, I'm watching the Paley vid (bwhahahahah wetting myself at "What was it about Alexander that stood out.."!!!
I aim to give him a couple more sprays then hopefully, somehow, bring him indoors for the rest of the painting. A daunting prospect.
Have an irritating timelapse gif of his second spraying.

I'm not surprised you're getting a bit of attention, but it's great to see you making some progress on hi!. I suspect he's going to be a bit more complicated to paint.

(I haven't seen anything from Paleyfest yet, was it really spoilery?)

Paley was surprisingly not at all spoilery - I thought they were going to talk about the Scooby episode a lot but the things they mentioned were already widespread and I don't think they gave anything much away about the content (apart from saying it's gory!).

As for the giraffe - the design for this one isn't too complicated, it's how I'm going to get to the parts I need to in order to paint that's the problem part! LOL

I might just watch it then (I'm not sure that I could resist it anyway!)

Oh dear yes! More outdoor painting and maybe even some props to balance it on ;)

Giraffic Park

*applause* If I ever make it back to the UK, I'm making time to come hang with you and your gigantic menagerie!

I wish I could keep one of each in my own mini safari park just to show visitors! LOL

This is awesome. What I would have given to have seen those faces. I'll cross my fingers and toes for good weather.

I'm no longer weather dependent! My lovely old neighbours, who are both over ninety, have offered use of their garage, so GP is now safely under cover. Lying down but dry.

Yes, good weather wished for! That's...a big giraffe, ma'am. I'm constantly in awe of your animals!

My neighbours have provide my solution - use of their garage! Yay! Especially as we have another cold snap forecast for Easter...

"What was it about Alexander that stood out..." made me giggle, too! Poor Alex must wonder what on earth he's let himself in for, but he seems to be fitting in very well, bless him! I love the name for your giraffe, and the time lapse isn't irritating, it's fun - I love the disappearing man!

Ha ha it's funny watching time lapse - like magic! :D

i'd probably give you and your giraffe funny looks too. but i have to be honest, being able to take it outside and paint it on the driveway is pretty cool. and it seems very appropriate that there's an art school across the street.

[identity profile] amberdreams.livejournal.com 2018-03-22 09:00 am (UTC)(link)
Sadly it's an ex art school, now an art gallery. I did enquire last year about using some space in there to paint, but their charge would have cost me more than the painting fee so I did the lion and bears in my front room instead. Our elderly neighbours have now loaned me their garage - the old boy, David, was quite put out that I wasn't painting Giraffic Park in the museum over the road because they have a Victorian collection of stuffed animals, including a giraffe! David thought it was a good publicity opportunity wasted LOL
