More Clarence
This lion is killing me! LOL. I did some painting yesterday but today decided I really need to get him up in the air a bit so I can paint the underneath bits and the insides of his legs without having to lie on the floor. So that meant searching around for something to prop him up on - not easy when his legs are so spaced out, and his feet so massive! Anyhow, we had some work done yonks ago which meant some original Victorian quarry tiles were taken up, and we saved them because they might come in useful one day. Today was that day! I brushed off as many as I could find that didn't have too much gunk adhering to their bases, and voila. Clarence is now about 8-9 inches higher off the floor than before.

As a result, I have been able to paint foliage, and more foliage, and also make a start on the bonus tree frog and orangutan. There was however, still much painful crawling, kneeling and sitting on the floor - which was accompanied by an unseemly amount of grunting, groaning and swearing. Lady I am not.
Here's the result of my labours.

He's still awkward to get to and as a result a bit weird-looking but never mind. The tree frog is also not quite what I wanted but hopefully will look ok by the time I've finished.

I am quite pleased with the plants though. Which is just as well as they are probably about half of the coverage.

Colonel Hathi and Mowgli are almost done

So are Akela and Bagheera

Top view!

Now I'm having a sit down and a rest.

I know what it's like creating something big where there's a lot of kneeling and bending involved, it feels like a thorough workout. On the plus side, Michaelangelo painted the entire Sistine Chapel lying on his back - at least you haven''t got to do that!!!

So what did you do that was so physical?

The other was a similar size, One of those picture boards with a hole in it that you put your face through to have a photo taken. That was for the charity I used to work for. That was a more intricate image so took about 3 days and it was stood up against a wall so I was up and down a stepladder all day!

The Santa was done early 90's in the pre-internet days. I do have some paper photos in albums floating around somewhere, but not too sure where right now!
