Random picspammage

I took some pics with my iPad when I was in Liverpool the last couple of visits, plus a couple in Shrewsbury.
This was the lovely tree in Liverpool One. Mum got some better photos with her camera but this one gives an impression of it's prettiness. The colours cycle through the rainbow too, I love it.
Liverpool One
It must be about 30ft tall.
Then there were a bunch of trees and ball lights along the path to the docks, with all the water features, so I got this one of the reflections.
Liverpool
When we went round my Aunty Marg's last time, I took a couple of bad photos of the art I'd done for her and my Gran many years ago, when I was trying to recreate some Anglo Saxon manuscript art (like the Book of Kells and the Lindisfarne Gospels). They've faded quite badly! LOL
I did this one as a kind of RL picspam - there's the tower of an Anglo Saxon church in Cambridge, a coin from the 8th century, another initial from a manuscript (from the Lindisfarne Gospels), St Cuthbert's cross and some warriors from the Bayeux Tapestry)
Anglo Saxon theme for Marg & Gran
I forget which AS manuscript I adapted this from. It's also copied from the Lindisfarne Gospels, though nowhere near as detailed as the real thing. The scale is about the same but this is on paper not vellum, and the ink is Quink not oak gall! Ha ha

And here's a view of the English Bridge in Shrewsbury with a nice half moon.
Shrewsbury
I wish I'd taken my proper camera now, but, well. It didn't feel appropriate taking a camera to a funeral.

Those are all spectacular--I love the closeup of the wire and light tree, with most of its height in the reflection, and the bridge is so evocative of all the history it's seen. Your drawings are amazing--that's some dedicated work. I imagine Quink smells quite a bit better than oak gall to work with, too!

I've never tried oak gall but I can't imagine it smells nice! LOL

I wished I had my camera, using the iPad is so awkward as well as ending up with grainy pics but it's better than nothing. :D
That bridge isn't that old, but there has been a bridge in that spot for centuries. Since before Cadfael (if you used to watch that!)

I confess, Cadfael is my first association with Shrewsbury!

I think that is true for a lot of people. I'd recommend it for a visit though - it's got lots of lovely old buildings, the Abbey is interesting and the shops are good.
