44th Street - Marvel Big Bang

Posting solo because my author had to withdraw from the bang for personal reasons, but hopefully the art will still make sense!
In summary - Clint and Natasha are sent into the past on a mission, and live for some time in 1950s New York.

I've done two illustrations.

First is Natasha and Clint in a crowded subway carriage.

I took the brilliant composition from a 1950s/60s advert illustration by Mac Conner, and reinterpreted it in collaged rough gouached paper and ink.

The second picture is also gouache and shows Natasha walking alone on 44th Street, using a period photo as a reference.


The fic will be posted later, serialised in chapters, so I'll add a link when I have it, for those interested.

Thank you! The colouring in the street scene particularly was unplanned - I'd intended originally to make it more detailed and more colourful but once I'd got that billboard red in I realised the red should be the feature. Funny how things work out like that!
