Swatching and a thank you!

minoanmiss sent me a homemade envelope with two sticker sheets of lovely happy dancing ladies, which I've been finding homes for on my growing collection of watercolour tins. Since I just filled up this tin with a variety of fabulous handmade watercolours from different talented paint-makers on Etsy, here's a couple of photos.

And here's a swatch page in my Etchr sketchbook with most of the pans sampled. I'm really loving the heavy granulation of some of these.

Those colors are awesome! I love the intensity--and because I don't "know" watercolors I wouldn't have noticed or acknowledged the "granulation." But now you've called attention to it, yes. I can see how it would lend a different texture and quality to the color.

These properties of watercolour are all new to me too! It's definitely about getting different textures and some of these colours actually separate out into two tones when they dry - lots of cool things to play with!
