SPN_Meanttobe art for wetsammywinchester

My second 2020  spn_meanttobe post is a collab with wetsammywinchester - what a treat! There were so many scenes I wanted to do but in the end, one stood out, and that's what I went for.

The main picture - not really spoilery but it is a scene from the story, where Jared takes Jensen on a boat trip and they encounter a turtle.

Close up of the figures - they are about 1.5 inches tall, in case you're wondering.

I didn't save any in progress stuff because the painting was all done fairly obviously - first the watercolour background, then drawing the figures onto the lighter part, then painting the figures. Boom, done.
I admit the visuals were heavily influenced by the wonderful and memorable Studio Ghibli film The Red Turtle. If you haven't seen it, go buy or rent it right now, because it's simply beautiful. Have your tissues ready though, it's very moving.

That is so beautiful too look at. Restful and I ADORE the expressions on the boys faces and you've got great 'swimmy' body language going on. Wonderful job!!

Gorgeous art- I looove the coloring here, it's so serene and tranquil. And the poses are great too- you really get the sense they're all underwater.
Beautifully done, beautiful sea turtle!

This is a beautiful underwater scene! I love the cartoony look of J2 and that you really made them float in a whole lot of water. I hope you have this framed on your wall, because that's where it should be:)

I love this! The colors are beautiful and both J2 and the turtle look amazing. Sam's hair in the water is delightful.

I love tiny Jared and Jensen! ♥ They are so cute. I know they're just in the distance of the vast ocean, but they are adorbs. Jared is having fun, while Jensen is all cautious.
And that sea turtle is really well done. I love the details you got in there with the warm shading. He's so soft and wise looking. I also like the light white strokes that indicate the (reflective waves? What are they called?). Good job, Amber!♥

Wooooow. So tiny and they look so good, that is so hard!! And I know I always say this but it never fails to stun me: I LOVE YOUR COLOR!!!!!!!!!

Gorgeous! The colors are soothing and I love how they look so small in that big ocean. Loved partnering with you <333

Watercolor was the perfect choice of a medium for this (not to mention that these are my favorite colors). Love it!
