Giraffic progress - a morning's work

Good news! Giraffic Park has a new home thanks to my lovely neighbours and their garage. It's still not tall enough to stand him up but I've got him on my homemade wheely trolly thing and so have been able to paint in relative comfort. It's cold and the wind swirls rubbish around but it's undercover and roomy!
Yesterday I did this much (after spending a good half hour or so trying to unwrap him without bashing his head on the floor!).

Then this morning the prehistoric giraffes got their spots


I thought I'd try some green spray on his legs - just as well that's all going to be painted over anyway! Most of it's going to need a few layers to look less streaky, but that's ok. My spraying finger's gone a nasty yellowy green again and it's a bugger to wash off - makes me look like a 60 a day smoker!

For your spraying-finger issue ... have you considered latex exam gloves? They're flexible / thin enough so you don't lose your sense of touch, and your fingers will stay finger-colored. 😉

I could wear gloves, tis true. But it's mostly done now so I just need to remember for next time. As for stamina - ha ha I have none! I have to kick myself out there - though the sunshine does help my motivation. :D

Bless them indeed. They see it as paying us back for the shopping and dog walking we've done for them in the past. They are both bright as buttons in their 90s - I hope I'm as with it as they are when I get there!

Oh, Amb, this looks so pretty! I love the colour combinations. You sure managed to get a lot of the giraffe covered already and as usual I'm in awe how you turn your 2D designs into 3D painting with all those curves. I wish I could go on all the art-trails you participate in, fortunately it's also great to see your process from the comfort of my home:)
