Useful for fanfic - escaping from zip ties

karadinposted a video showing how you can break zip ties from the front, and this vid shows how to do the same thing if your hands are tied behind your back

All really interesting and useful for fanfic writing (hopefully NOT for real life!)
Here's the front one too

Awesome! Reminds me of my one of favorite escape scenes (warning: blood)

Well that's another way to break them!

Yeah, never give your back to a suspected criminal. That's stupid xD

I saw this a while back, and although I haven't gotten the nerve to try it on myself yet, it did get me wondering how strong zip ties really are. I had used some zip ties to secure my folding dog peg to my car, and I wondered if I could break the ties by hand by using that sort of single burst of force.

Of course it worked way better than I could have imagined, and I went flying back and landed on my ass with the dog pen on top of me. How else could that have gone down???

:)

Oh thanks for that info! So if you tried that with military grade ones you'd probably end up breaking your wrists - meep!

Well obviously I'm hoping never to try it out for real! But in a fic - yeah, useful info on both counts!
