What ISIS/ISIL wants

This is a long article and takes some time to read and absorb, but it's really thought provoking. Where the conclusions drawn here about ISIS lie, in the light of ISIS claiming responsibiliity for the Paris attrocities, I'm not sure, but if 90% of this is correct, it actually gives me a little hope. Thank you for this. This seems to be what journalism should be about - and how rare and refreshing is that? It is hopeful if it is mostly true because it means that this is not east against west or muslim against christian - it is one apocalyptic cult against the rest of the world - and if the rest of the world could only unite properly we have more than enough resources and thinkers to defeat it.
