Running on Empty - Season 11 Episode 2 reaction drabbles
I don't know why, but this episode felt more satisfying than the season opener. Anywho - drabbling!
Title: Running on Empty

Summary: A drabble each for Dean, Crowley and Sam
A/N: Sorry there's no Castiel view here, I'm not buying his storyline at the moment. It's not convincing me at all.

Jenna’s grandma’s place was – nice. The sun shone and the world was bright as a chocolate box cover. It reminded him of stepping out of Bobby’s house into that dream of the past, where all the colours were saturated and clean. He should’ve known from that alone, it couldn’t last.
He should’ve known fresh-faced Jenna with her beautiful blue eyes was going to end up broken; that Grandma would be bloodied and the baby…fuck.
That innocent child, who wasn’t either of those things.
Dean didn’t understand anything, except he was responsible. He should have tried harder. Should have saved them.

Crowley felt an affinity with the Catholic Church, its dramatic flare and deep-rooted superstition. Hell, he even liked the incense. However, none of that compared with the profound joy that stirred in his dead chest when he saw Dean’s shocked expression over the fancy teacup’s rim.
The King was back; Crowley was himself at last. Casual slaughter was back on the menu, a nice side order to the main dish of plotting to further his cause. Dean’s pain at the death of the pretty girl was just adding spice to the flavour.
This Darkness was something he could work with.

Sam trailed a finger through the holy oil puddled in the kidney dish, watching it catch the light as it coated his skin with a shiny film. Such a simple solution to the violent contamination the Darkness had left behind. It seemed too easy. Almost like divine intervention.
Billie’s words bounced round his head, as if his brain had been scooped out, leaving nothing but a hollow bone chamber and echoes.
Into the Empty, unclean.
She’d given him the solution, while condemning him and Dean to eternity in…what? A lonely void they hadn’t even known existed?
Yeah. Felt about right.

I loved how you picked up on how bright and cherry Jenna's grandmothers house was, I noticed that too, and thought 'uh, oh'. And yes for King Crowley and buddying up with Amara! The Reapers words would give you a shiver shown your spine - poor Sam.
