Hoziernatural Bang Art post 2 - Foreigner's God
Song: Foreigner's God
Title: He Feels No Control of His Body
Author: withthekeyisking
Artist: amberdreams
Beta Reader: miajackswild
Summary: Sam Winchester has spent his entire life believing in a God and a Heaven that never believed in him in turn.

This story fits the song so well - and those lyrics are so Sam! The very first scene really spoke to me, where Sam is staring at hands that don't feel they belong to him.
The idea of adding the lyrics came later, hopefully it works.
Process wise, much the same as usual.
Pencil and watercolour, trying for a much looser, random splashing style and a limited palette to convey a sense of Sam's perception of an unreality. This time I inked the lines after painting - very much a last minute decision I'm still not sure worked.
Pencil ready for watercolour

Watercolour without the text. The final version I adjusted the light so some of the background colour was deliberately lost.

A detail crop. The main colours I used were Daniel Smith Deep Scarlet, Isaro Saffron yellow and I think Daniel Smith Sodalite genuine.
