Now that's more like it!

Christ on a cracker! Just watched Sherlock episode 2 and THAT'S why this show is made of win. Awesome trippy, fantastically twisty FUN! Now I can happily forget all about epsiode 1 because really, that was a complete waste of time. Everything I needed was packed into 90 quality minutes .... SPOILERS (mainly for Episode 1)....

i.e. Mary had the baby then died saving Sherlock's life; John blamed Sherlock and abandonned his friend (and to a certain extent his baby) in order to grieve alone; Sherlock, left to his own devices was shooting up and being generally excentric in a satisfyingly dishevelled manner.

So once that's established, away we go with the marvellously creepy Toby Jones playing a not too subtle Donald Trump figure who happens to be a crazed serial killer. So they gave us a satisfying investigation with lots of clever deductions, physical hazard, halucinations, twists and turns - followed by a lovely emotional section which had real heart and brought a tear to my eye; then Lord of the Rings-like several potential endings finsihing with a real belter of a shock that I certainly never saw coming.

I'm not (hopefully) spoiling the plot for anyone by saying - it was everything a Sherlock Holmes story should be - and it even slipped in a nice SPN connection by talkig about H.H. Holmes. I am a very happy bunny!

I am so hoping this is not the last season of Sherlock Holmes. I have been reading articles and various comments from the stars that since Mary was killed off this is quite possibly the set up for the end of the show. I sure hope not, The stars say they are ok with the show ending this season. But so far nothing has been confirmed its being left in secrecay.
