Sketchy sketches
Aug. 21st, 2016 07:47 pmMum's been down for a few days to see the pigs and just hang out, so when I heard there was another sketchbook walk today, I suggested we both go. We did have a muddly moment this morning because I thought I was collecting Mum from her hotel, while she'd got it into her head we were meeting at the college where the sketch walk was to start. Remind me never to let her stay in a Premier Inn again when I'm around as they have no phones in the room so you have to tackle reception and get them to go knock on the door (which I knew Mum was unlikely to hear, given that she's deaf as a post without her hearing aids in), and then persuade them to escort you up there and try the door to make sure she's not slipped in the bathroom or had a heart attack or something. And yes, I know she's pretty metally competent and wiry-fit, but she is 82 and a little bit frail and slow... so I did have a horrible few moments panicking there.
Putting that little scare behind us, it was windy, cloudy then bright sunshine down at the marina, we'd lost the sketcher party because we were late, but then bumped into them in a cafe that has a junior pig. So we got our free sketch book and pencil, and had a wander round to produce these.
Mine:
Tall ship detail - 4b pencil( image intensive again... )
